OUR BEGINNINGS
The Museum has been a dream of the Ho-Chunk Nation since it's establishment in 1963, however there has never been an opportune time to create the organization until now. The Museum opened in January 2020 as the premiere location for learning and experiencing Ho-Chunk culture.
We inspire young and old to enjoy learning about our cultural history. We make learning about the Ho-Chunk Story a “real” experience, as visitors are able to see objects that are otherwise not available.
As our society undergoes rapid changes, including global climate change and the information technology explosion, museums preserve and protect our cultural and natural history for generations to come.
The faster our society changes, the more important it becomes for our tribal citizens to have access to lifelong cultural learning.
